common sizes of extruded (XPS) or expanded (EPS) polystyrene foam (check our foam type

EXtreme precision and accuracy
Precision and functionality are two very important key factors of the Axis range. The
machines are designed and constructed using double wall anodized aluminum.
By constructing our machines with materials which are lightweight yet very strong, we can
ensure eXtreme accuracy and repeatability of cut. The drive motors on the Axis
machines do not have to move massive weights such as steel I-beams or heavy platforms. By
moving the lightest, balanced weight possible, the Axis machines have accuracy and
repeatability specifications which are unmatched by any other manufacturer.
Feature: Double
cutting wires
All of our foam cutters (not including the
Standard series) include a second cutting wire as standard feature. The
Dual-Cut wire assembly is adjustable to within 4” of the first wire
and can be increased incrementally every 5/128” (0.3mm) to provide
very fine placement and adjustment of the wire. The Dual-Cut wire can
provide many time saving functions such as trimming the top and bottom
of the block simultaneously, slabbing of a foam billet into sheet stock
and doubling production of molds and trim moldings are only a few
examples.
Feature: Sequential file cutting
The ProTurn is capable of cutting non-symmetrical objects such as a unique shape, perfume bottle, cellular phone, etc. Similar to cutting a symmetrical object, the Axis cuts a silhouette design and pauses while the turntable turns. However on the return cut, the
Foam Cutter Company software reads ahead and has loaded the second profile shape (which may be different from the first) and cuts the second profile while returning to the start point. Again the wire pauses once it reaches the start point, the turntable turns and the Foam Cutter Company software has read the third profile and starts to cut this on the upward cut. This process is repeated until all the profiles are cut.

Our Industrial Axis 488EX, 888EX, 4800EX, 8800EX, 81616EX, 161616EXand 080824 cutting machines incorporate a very unique feature and capability not found on
any competitive
foamcutters. Without the need for additional machinery, jigs, blocks,
templates or optional accessories, the Axis family of
multi-axis computer controlled hot wire foam cutters can cut tapered shapes and also designs utilizing a different shape at both ends of the cutting wire.
The independent axis control of our machines allows the creation of objects which are either too time or labor intensive to produce by any other means. Each end of the cutting wire is mounted on a belt-driven wire trolley that can move horizontally or vertically independent of the other.
To cut a fluted tapered column; we simply scale down one side of the cutting profile in relation to the other. An 8' tall fluted column, tapered from 18" diameter on one end to 12" on the other, will be finished in less than three minutes!
The capabilities of the Axis family of hot wire foam cutters opens new business opportunities, improves production and will allow the production of pieces and designs that were impractical until now.

One of our very unique features on our cutters is the ability
to customize our machines to fit your needs. This machine was
outfitted with two cutting arms to allow increased production of
large shapes that would be impractical with with a
"multi-wire" unit. The multi-arm unit cuts with the same
exactness and precision of all of our cutting systems. The Axis
can be designed with several cutting arms and each cutting arm is
fully distance adjustable and can be "parked" when not
in use to allow full cutting travel of the single wire. The Axis
line of foam cutters are the only cutter available with multiple
cutting arms.

Protective doors can be fitted on any of our Axis
Industrial foam cutters. These safety switch activated doors provide
additional safety and security in large production facilities or in areas
of high traffic around the Axis cutter. In facilities where
multiple Axis's are installed and operated by a single operator, the
protective doors provide protection and security for other plant
employees.

Because the entire range of Axis foam cutters are computer driven, they continue working long after closing time. Setup your job, load the foam and start the cutting. Once the job is complete, the Axis stops moving and the wire cools immediately. No further movement or wire heating occurs until the operator loads another job to start cutting.

When an Axis is outfitted with protective doors it can be fitted with
exhaust extractors. This is particularly important in high production
facilities such as Automotive manufacturing plants, large theater and prop
production facilities where air quality and air monitoring systems are
implemented and in use.

All Axis hot wire foam cutters have these basic (and unique) features:
Cooling fans
Our foam cutters all have small electronic fans mounted on each side of our automatic wire
tensioner (unique Axis foam cutter feature designed by Foam Cutter Company) to cool the wire that is
not inside the foam. By cooling the wire outside of the foam, a constant temperature is
maintained across the length of the wire, giving you eXtreme high quality, precision cuts.
 Electronic Controller
All of our Axis hot wire foam cutters are driven by our own electronic Controllers which
are completely designed and built in our own production facility. The Controller
incorporates a built in microprocessor which is software upgradeable. The controller is
built with the capability to drive 5 different motors simultaneously while electronically
regulating the temperature of the cutting wire. Precise control over the temperature is
important to cut quality as different foams, having varying densities, require different
cutting temperatures. By electronically regulating the wire temperature, rather than using
step-down transformers only, you are assured of constant and consistent temperature on the
wire, thus delivering superior cut quality. The sophistication of our controller is one of
the vital components, which set the Axis family of hot wire foam cutters above other
machines in the market.
Axis Windows Software
Use your files from AutoCAD® , Adobe Illustrator®,
CorelDRAW® or other drawing programs.
All cutters come with this eXtreme ly easy to use Windows based software.
Some basic features are: Fully automatic linking of objects, job cost and
estimator, step & repeat file creation, preset speeds for different
foams (you choose the materials) , Cutting time remaining, Customer notes,
Simulated cutting (To test your files) and many more useful functions.
Create your design in most standard CAD type programs (such as AutoCAD® ,
CorelDRAW®, etc).
You can use clipart, logos, scanned & traced images, customer provided artwork, and
any vector (line based) images. Import your design into our Foam Cutter Company software and you're
ready to cut. We also include CorelDRAW Essentials software with all foam cutters
sold in North America. Our software upgrades are free of charge.
