ProShape - Shapeable Wire Tool
Although the ProTurn adds incredible capability to your Axis Pro or Industrial Series
foam cutter, when used in conjunction with the Shapeable Wire Tool, you have a machine
which is unchallenged anywhere.
The Shapeable Wire Tool uses a special 0.03” (0.9 mm) diameter bendable wire to cut
into the foam. The wire heating is controlled through a separate electronic controller
while the X and Y movements are still controlled by the main Controller. As the shapeable
wire is much thicker than the regular wire it also takes longer to heat up
before it can
be used.
When the
 Foam Cutter Company software is set up for cutting with the Shapeable Wire Tool the
wire is preheated before starting the cutting operation.
The Shapeable Wire Tool can be used with a single axis movement, in conjunction with a
two-axis movement or simultaneously with all three axis’. Combining all three
axis’ in one movement will give you the ability to create “turned” objects
such as a bolt or a tapered screw. By using a two axis’ movement plus the turntable
separately you can create a fluted column with the flutes spaced at precise locations. A
single axis movement will give you the ability to cut out a single groove or trench.
The Shapeable Wire Tool can be pivoted 360° and can be oriented vertically or
horizontally. The Tool can be easily installed in a few minutes without having to remove
the standard cutting wire and in no way affects the cutting or operation of the Axis.

 Axis ProLathe II:
Foam Cutter Company is proud to introduce a new innovation. The ProLathe II, after several months in design, is ready for release.
We have taken the idea and concept of our ProTurn and turned it horizontally! By orienting the
ProLathe II to operate horizontally, we can take advantage of a longer length in the X axis. The Professional 488EX, while only having a height capacity of 48" (1.2 m) can now produce rope and spiral columns up to 8' (2.5m) long. This reduces the amount of handling and operator involvement to produce these objects.
The ProLathe II is designed to be used with either the regular straight cutting wire or the ProShape shapeable wire tool. Using the straight cutting tool you can produce multi-faceted designs with a larger "height" component; with the ProShape shaped wire tool you can produce "taller" rope columns and other spiral objects.
